While having a yarn with the owner of BucKat List Fishing Charters Warwick we asked him the age old question, “Warwick, tell us a little about yourself, your fishing and of course, you boat”!,
This was his reply:
“I grew up in the snowy mountains fishing for trout with fly’s, but have always fished offshore or land based in rivers wherever I have lived. In Jarvis Bay south of Sydney the family had a holiday house that my grandfather built. I have also fished extensively, Melbourne in the Bay, and Brisbane. Up until a few years ago we did a regular trip to Frazer for a week each year as well.
I have been working hard for the last 30 years and this boat is a culmination of that and hopefully will be my retirement job.
I am at present doing my Coxswains course and will probably do my master 5 after that. The boat is a custom built 28 foot aluminium Sailfish Catamaran 2800 with 2x 150 Honda 4 strokes built at Alstonville in NSW to 2c survey. It can fish 6 with 2 crew or 7 with 1 crew. It can sleep 2 has hot and cold water and an onboard toilet and shower, microwave , It can cruise at 29 knots and is very stable and safe.
Oh and out of curiosity we also asked Robyn, Warwick’s wife what the story behind the logo was… Robyn: “The black and white cat is our "Boots" and I am forever quoted as saying he is "the best cat in the world" so when it came to naming the boat....Warwick had always referred to his "bucket list" but was wanting to include Boots some how...being a catamaran and kat/cat had to come into it some how so.......Bootsie is holding the "bucket list" but we spelt it BucKat”.
