2011 Moreton Bay Classic - underway

Moreton Bay Classic fishing competitionThe 2011 Moreton Bay Classic is now well underway after commenincing on the 1st July 2011. With two days remaining it has already been a great competition, enjoying great weather and conditions for fishing out on Moreton Bay. There have been many reports on the BFO forum of successful fishing trips and we look forward to seeing the results come in.

For all those competiting you have until 6pm AEST Sunday 10th July 2011 to submit your catches.

Many people have had a chance to get out and explore Moreton Bay as the boundaries (which can be seen on the following map) have been large enough to allow people at different ends of the bay to fish locally. We hope this new format has made it easy for everyone to participate.

After the competition finishes we will be assessing all the formally submitted entries and announcing the winners later that night. The huge lucky door prize of $1000 will also be drawn after the competition ends. There is a total of 38 properly made competitor registrations (40 registered but one member did not pay and another was later banned and as a result forfeited their entry). So there is a 1 in 38 chance of winning the $1000 prize for the Moreton Bay Classic fishing tournament.

To follow the action and see which fish have been caught so far, you can see the submitted entries at www.brisbanefishing.com.au/competitions/moreton-bay-classic/submitted-catches
