The Brisbane River Classic fishing competition Event Headquarters (HQ) will be at the Colmslie Recreational Reserve, Col Gardner Drive, Colmslie (some refidexes say Morningside). The Event Headquarters is where you need to report for your pre-fishing briefing and also for weighing-in and prize presentation. The Brisbane River Classic (’BRC’) fishing competition runs from 8:00am Friday 12th December - 4:00pm Sunday 14th December 2008, with prize and trophy presentation at 4:30pm.

The actual fishing boundaries for the competition are from the mouth of the Brisbane River up river to 500 metres below the Wivenhoe Dam wall. Entrants may fish anywhere in between these limits. Fishing is restricted to 50m into each of the river’s tributaries. The Brisbane River mouth fishing limits is demarcated by an intangible North Mark (27°22'40.84"S, 153°9'37.00"E) and South Mark (27°22'49.10"S, 153° 9'51.44"E); no fishing is to be done outwards into Moreton Bay from these marks. Entrants are advised to seek authority from private owners if intending to fish from the bank of privately owned land.
