I've always thought about converting the pool into a big pond.... nah when i get my own house/land i will look into a serious sized pond. I have a couple tubs i keep out the back but they are mostly backup plants for when the others arent growing good.
An eel would survive if it's big enough. But if it's big enough it probably wont stay put either haha What about a legal jack ? I know where you can get one.
Just added about 40 rainbows to the sooty tank and nows hes sulking likr a lil girl now a school of food has mooved in, till the light goes off I dont think there will be any left by the end of the week
nothing to worry about a milky tank that's new water ,it always happens .
you fill the tank ,treat the water and a day or 2 after it goes milky but in about a week it will clear up .once the cycle and filters kick in .
dirty gravel will make a tank milky too .
don't know about wood for cat fish ,i never have .just let the clean the gravel in the tank .
bristle nose are pretty good at hiding .
i once had a tank with 14 gold spot bristle nose and 14 albino bristle nose babies in they all died over night after having them for a few weeks .

Hey Joel, I missed this topic. Looks like a good buy.
The best filter/pump for under $100 (imo) are those vertical type with the filter canisters underneath a pump head that circulates the water. They sit inside the tank suctioned to a side. Easy to clean and efficient.
Probably too late for the comment now. What did you get ?

Welcome to the group, Horrie. Sounds like you're right into it. Shortie is into the Flower Horns and may be interested in some offspring if he cooks his own by mistake lol
I'm more into the natives these days, but do have a community tank with Oscar, Silver Dollars, Kissing Gourami, Algae and some others I can't see at the moment haha
Thanks for the tips.. I will go get a therm to check out the temp... i guess it can be quite warm in my house at times.
as for copper... hmmm, not sure.
I hope I can breed them...
