Austackle Brisbane River Classic Supports Autism Qld

The Team from Brisbane Fishing would like to annouce their pledge to support Autism Queensland through this years Austackle Brisbane River Classic. We will be donating $10 from every Junior entry from this years Classic towards the hard and admirable work that the crew from Autism Queenland conduct. In conjuction with this donation from the junior entries, we will create a donations drive for any adult participants, or any other members of Brisbane Fishing Online who would like to contribute.

Junior anglers this year are just as eligible to win the copious ammounts of lucky door prizes on offer as their senior counter parts. With this in mind, if you have or know any eligible Junior entrants conisider entering them to both support the BFO community and Autism Queensland.

For those of you not aware of the prevelance of the Autism spectrum, or the hard work the organisation undetakes we would like to provide some further information:

Who is Autism Queensland?
"Autism Queensland is a community based, not-for-profit, Incorporated Association dedicated to bringing about positive change in the lives of people with Autism and their families.

We are the only organisation that provides a comprehensive range of specialised services and support for people of all ages living with Autism and their families throughout Queensland.

We are the state’s longest serving and most experienced agency with over 45 years of experience in the delivery of Early Intervention, education and training, support, therapy and respite care.

Our services include Queensland’s only accredited, non-state schools located at Sunnybank and Brighton delivering Autism-specific education and therapy programs; Centres of Excellence in Far North and Central Queensland; as well as outreach, training and support services for parents, professionals and schools across the state.

Autism Queensland is involved in a variety of research programs in collaboration with universities to better understand Autism and develop improved interventions for people with Autism in the future.

Demand for our services is growing every year – we now support over 3,000 people with Autism across Queensland, this is up 40 per cent from 10 years ago.

We rely on community, government and business to support our valuable programs".

We look forward to seeing many of you there.
